You should not reheat it on the stove as that will make the syrup extra sugary and sweet which might not taste well.

I pour my maple syrup over my waffles, cooked sweet potatos, ice creams, date pudding, cupcakes, hot cereal, salad dressings, cooked vegetables and many more.
I find maple syrup as the closest, low-fat, low calorie and vegan substitute to honey. You might find a number of maple syrup brands in the market. But, they might not be as healthy as the one you prepare at home with the above recipe. You can use maple syrup along with vegan custard for a number of vegan dessert recipes.
